With her personal highlights so this year, such as being hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to be his guest onstage at the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee is able to maintain her songwriting regimen despite the hectic recent times. Now a magnet for up-and-coming producers, she regularly combs through beats she receives and finds that many result in sparking ideas for songs. It's only after five minutes when I'm able to determine the beat's worthy of my time. Then, I get the idea of a complete song within my head, and then I start writing. When I am playing my guitar in my front yard I begin writing, and words flow. The majority often, I'm completed in just 30 minutes. Niykee's memories of pain provide endless sources of inspiration. It's difficult to escape memories that are painful from my youth, especially losing my younger sister. The memories end up getting integrated into her music. My music is inspired by my experiences and I can feel the deeper meaning underneath all of it. That's one of the elements that is important to me.
