She was born to Susan Duff & Robert Erhard Duff. She has a sister named Haylie Duff is her youngest sister. Hilary was spurred by her sibling to go on a trip along with Cecchetti Ballet as a young girl. Though the star enjoyed ballet she discovered her real passion in front of the camera, and she was soon able to begin acting professionally.
